Monday Afternoon News Briefs from Eretz Yisrael


A number of people were arrested on suspicion of involvement in a shooting attack against IDF soldiers in Ramallah last month. Included are residents of the el-Omar refugee camp, some employees of the Red Crescent including an attorney employed by the humanitarian organization and a PA government official.

** The terrorist who stabbed a soldier on the Jerusalem light rail was ordered held without bail pending the outcome of his trial.

** Knesset Speaker Reuven Rivlin officially declared Shaul Mofaz, the newly-elected head of the Kadima party, head of the Knesset opposition faction, replacing Tzipi Livni.

** MK Eldad calls for an investigation into Neturei Karta for their continuing ties with Israel’s enemies.
