VIDEOS & PHOTOS: Violent Protests Outside The IDF Jerusalem Draft Center, Some Prominent Sephardi Rabbonim Join

(VIDEOS & PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

There have been chareidi protesters outside the IDF Jerusalem Draft Center for most of the afternoon on Tuesday, 10 Kislev. It is rumored that a frum woman (women) were taken into custody by military authorities, and this is the reason given for the latest round of protests, which seems to have attracted more Yerushalmim from the Eida than litvish protesters from the Peleg. It is pointed out that Gavaad Eida Chareidis HaGaon HaRav Yitzchok Tuvia Weiss has sided with HaGaon HaRav Shmuel Auerbach, the Peleg, giving backing and manpower to many Peleg protests.

Yassam police assigned to the protest are visible in large numbers, and they seem to have zero tolerance for any movement towards the street, blocking traffic. Police are using considerable force and are pushing and hitting participants indiscriminately.

Marking a new stage in the protests in that this time, there are prominent Sephardi rabbonim joining in, including HaGaon HaRav Yehuda Cohen and HaGaon HaRav Yitzchak Bracha, two well-known roshei yeshivos.

Rav Cohen, who heads Mosdos ‘Yakirei Yerushalayim’, is very close to the head of the Shas Moetzas Chachmei HaTorah, HaGaon HaRav Shalom Cohen. Rav Bracha is Rosh Yeshivas Ateret Yitzchak and has always spoken out against IDF induction but they have never taken part in a protest before.

  1. The foreign press that has weighed in the protests all expressed outrage on the preferential treatment these protesters have received as opposed to to arab protesters who would be immediately confronted with overwhelming force.
Any country in the world including the USA would treat such protesters much harsher.

  2. The whole frum world is waking up B”H. And Yeshivaworldnews, please change the title as it is clear the police are the ones who are violent

  3. These videos make me sick. I live here, I see it, and it’s sick.

Talk to the chassan and kallah who had a half empty wedding because guests couldn’t make it past the hafganos. Talk to the woman in labor who was delayed on the way to the hospital. Talk to the frum soldiers who are afraid to go home for shabbos in uniform because they live near chareidi neighborhoods. Talk to the businesses in Yerushalayim who are suffering because people are avoiding sitting in hours of traffic to go out at night. Talk to the families who cannot go to the kotel to daven because of the hours of traffic. Talk to the secular college kids who will not get that inspiring Yerushalayim visit, because they were delayed in hours of traffic and shaken by the unruly protesters. Talk to the garbagemen who have to clean up. Talk to the police captains who are struggling to keep their young policemen calm, day after day after day of protests – while being calling vile names, spat at, and mocked by those who chose not to serve.

There is a limit to everything. If things cannot be calmed down quickly, they will chas v’shalom boil over.

I cannot believe that the gedolim are aware of everything that is going on, and continue to support this. It just doesn’t “pass”. Someone is misrepresenting this, and in doing so is taking a tremendous weight on their shoulders.

  4. I also live here and if they disrupt life – like once it took me 2 hrs to get home from work

Even if it is “peaceful” it is done in places that disrupt the whole area and the police have every right to disperese the illegal demonstration

If they want to protest – go ahead – do it where ur allowed to!!!!

Besides that – I have heard such foul language about all the Charedim and I think it is just one big Chillu Hashem

Once I even called a name of one of the organizers who doesn’t have any idea whatgsoever that they r losing support even among ‘standard Charedim” – let alone any secular who may understand somewhat why it i hard to be Frum in the IDF

And there has not been even ONE case where a Bachur who went to the draft office was forced to go to the army against his will – NOT EVEN ONE!!!

Those who don’t are BREAKING THE LAW and in the USA would find themselves behind bars for a long time RIGHT AWAY

All of u who live in the USA should just sit put and not believe their propaganda!!!

  5. To JDB.
I s find your motion. I agree with everything you mention. Personally I would if used much more severe and harsh wording. It’s utterly disgusting outrageous despicable act of these frummies. Personally if I was chief of police I would order extreme harsh power against these lunatics.

    If I may add though.
The younger guys look like they make it a game a play and fun times in these protests. Not only referring to these 2 clips here but in general. It’s horrifying to see what Frum people have scummed too. The level of education morality and self honor has been scathed for generations.
    Sad but true.

These youngsters will grow up as our upcoming generation as worthless disrespected vile people. I’m nauseated by what I see. Hashem Yerachem !!!
