Bulgarian President Thanks Zaka

During an official state dinner in the President’s Residence in Yerushalayim, President Shimon Peres introduced visiting Bulgarian President Rosen Plevneliev to Zaka head Yehuda Meshi-Zahav, explaining how Zaka responded to the scene of the terror attack last summer. The attack in Burgas targeted an Israeli tourist bus and claimed six lives, including the bus driver and five Israelis.

It was explained to the visiting dignitary that within three hours of the attack, Zaka arranged for a private flight to the Burgas airport bringing medical personnel, rescue and body identification personnel and supplies.

The president personally thanked Meshi-Zahav and Zaka for being in the front line of responding to disastrous situations around the world.
