Lapid Calls On Lieberman To Leave The Coalition Over The Passing Of The Shabbos Law

Yesh Atid party leader MK Yair Lapid is calling on Defense Minister Avigdor Lieberman to break from the coalition and compel early elections in protest over the recent passing of the Shabbos Law.

Liberman on Shabbos visited stores operating in the Big Center in Ashdod, encouraging them to continue with business as usual despite the passage of the Shabbos Law, which he and his colleagues in Yisrael Beitenu oppose. Yahadut Hatorah is calling on Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu to censure Lieberman over his inciteful actions on Shabbos in the Ashdod shopping center.

Lapid told Lieberman, “At the end, it’s not all politics and we must act on our beliefs”, adding residents of Ashdod have clearly declared they are not willing to sit back and permit their city to become another Beit Shemesh”. Lapid is clearly on board with them and is hopeful his party will be large enough to change realities vis-à-vis the Shabbos Law.
