First Homes Set Into Place For The Amona Expellees

It has been over a year since the expulsion from Amona, and on Wednesday, 6 Adar, the first homes are being set down in Yishuv Amichai.

The operation began on Wednesday, calling for the placement of 36 homes in the new community within 48 hours, marking the start of the new Shomron community.

For the expellees, they explain it has been a long haul and seeing the placement of the new homes is the beginning of the light at the end of the tunnel.

It was about a half year ago when Amichai cleared its final hurdle, leaving residents to think the solution would be immediate, but once again, the months ticked by and the expellees remained homeless.

In line with government promises and the current plan, there is approval to build 1,100 homes in Amichai, which is located in the Gush Shilo area of the Binyamin Regional Council.
