Terrorist’s Family Insists Akko Attack Was Not An Attack

According to the family of the 26-year-old Israeli Arab driver from Shfaram, who ran over three soldiers in Akko on Sunday, the incident was not a terrorist attack despite the ruling to the contrary by the Shin Bet and Israel Police.

Family members of the driver, who was shot by police and remains in moderate condition, explain if he wished to perpetrate an attack, he would not have first dropped his pregnant wife off at a nearby clinic for a checkup. They explain that he ‘lost it’ because he was fined NIS 1,000 for parking in a disabled spot and drove off in a rampage, but he is not a terrorist.

On Monday, the Shin Bet announced it was uncertain as to the motive for the attack while Israel Police announced with certainty it was an act of terror. Later in the day the Shin Bet announced it had completed its probe into the incident and it concurred with police, that it was a terrorist attack.

The terrorist’s dad concurs, telling Walla News “You can ask anyone in our community. We are not terrorists and we condemn such actions and always have”.

The family hopes that the truth will be revealed, and everyone will realize the tragic event was not a terrorist attack.

In a related matter, the Haifa Magistrate Court on Monday afternoon extended the remained of the hospitalized terrorist by ten days.

  1. One huge problem. The police and Shin-Bet generally tell the truth. Arabs are taught from birth that honesty is not a virtue. I would suspect anything said by an Arab as highly likely to be a lie.

  2. Someone who drives a car into people is a terrorist. Particularly if all the people he happened to drive into are IDF soldiers/police.
