The American staff in Israel who are organizing the opening ceremony of the embassy in Jerusalem have decided that many Members of Knesset will not appear at the historic event, due to a limited number of tickets made available.

It should be noted that when this became known, the decision caused surprise and disappointment among MKs were hoping to experience the historic event in person.

A partial reason for the decision stems from the fear that MKs may embarrass themselves and the country, as MK Oren Hazan did during President Donald Trump’s visit to Israel, when he pushed his way forward to pose for a selfie with Trump moments after he landed in Israel.

The government seems to be looking to minimize opportunities for unexpected events.
