Jerusalem Grandfather Arrested For Giving Cannabis To His Toddler Granddaughter


A Jerusalem man is under arrest for allegedly giving cannabis to his his toddler granddaughter.

Hadassah Mt. Scopus Hospital spokesperson Hadar Elb’aum reported a girl arrived at the pediatric emergency room during the night, appearing sunken, deeply absorbed and vaguely aware”. After various tests, it was found that her body had a very high dose of cannabis.

Director of Pediatric ICU at Hadassah Mt. Scopus, Dr. Rivka Brooks, reported that the baby is in better condition during the morning but has not yet returned to normal. Her condition is described as “nervous and blurred and waking intermittently”.

Police were notified, and an investigation was launched in which the parents of the toddler were interrogated. During the questioning, suspicions pointed to the grandfather of the child, who apparently stayed at the home when the event occurred.

The grandfather was arrested and brought for questioning on suspicion of committing offenses including neglecting a minor, causing injury and possession of drugs. The investigation continues.

The grandfather was arraigned before the Jerusalem Magistrate Court on Thursday.
