(Click HERE for photos) After meeting with security officials at the King David hotel this morning, American presidential candidate Republican Senator John McCain paid a visit to the Kosel under armed escorts.
After arriving at the Kosel plaza, he exited his vehicle under heavy guard and proceeded to make his way to the wall, stopping along the way to greet bystanders. After touching the wall in an emotional moment, he said a short prayer with the assistance from Rav Rabinovitch, Rav of the Kosel.
As he was proceeding to the Kosel tunnels for a tour, a small tumult ensued between security personal and reporters which resulted in a scuffle that left a handgun magazine sprawled across the ground along with a few broken cameras.
After spending close to half an hour at the Kosel tunnels, Senator McCain proceeded to his vehicle amongst the crowd as he continued to his 2:00 pm appointment with Israeli Defense Minister Ehud Barak. As part of his two day visit, Senator McCain visited Yad Vashem on Tuesday night.

for all the nonsense that people say about president Bush, the bottom line is that he wa one of the best presidents for Isael- he understood terrorism.
McCain is the same way- he understans better than anyone else
i think all jews should vote for him to make sure that we protect our own interests
I wonder what this means for politicians worldwide… What about the Lakewood Vaad, have they weighed in?
Of course, visiting the Kosel is perfectly sapient and politically correct, but intuitive reminiscing vis a vis zionism and Senator Brownback leaves one wondering…
And Lieberman ? Lets not forger Nixon/ Carter absolutism and Breziznski “tolerance”
That said, Lets not get carried away…
Prudent jurdispudence especially in this situation are clearly wanting for.
Good Luck !!!
Beautiful picture. I am not a fan of McCain, but will choose him over the other two. When will they make their trips and profess their support for Israel and the Jews?
#3, Why must we choose a candidate solely for his support for Israel?
My new wallpaper!
Wow, you’re sitting on an exclusive: those pictures tell me Lieberman will be McCain’s VP candidate.
ki beti — bet tfilah yikarei le’kol ha’amim!
also, considering the choices — he’s the only decent man (or woman) there.
WHY ON EARTH IS HE WEARING A KIPPAH????????
How did security let the loud Barchu guy get so close to McCain?
dan daoust, Lieberman said he would not accept the nomination of VP, so that will not happen. He’d rather just support and campaign for McCain as a senator.
Does anyone know if the shnorers got to him?
Uchen’ vay! He lost my vote with that Srugi. Why cant he wear a hat like a mentch?
Just plain old politics as usual. It’s all in the ‘hands’ of HASHEM!
Rav Mechel #4, because that is the issue having most to do with Torah, thus it is the issue with the most weight.
The Town Crier, sure he is not perfect, but Obama and Hillary are worse. The best is probably Ron Paul (no money to Israel or Arabs, no pressure on Israel to give away land), but he is never winning.
