Israeli Chief of the General Staff of the IDF, Lt. Gen. Gadi Eisenkot, held a situational assessment meeting on Wednesday with the Gaza Division in order to obtain a formal briefing regarding the activities of the unit over the past few days.

Attending the meeting was Maj. Gen. Herzi Halevi Chief Officer of the Southern Command, Brig. Gen. Eliezer Toledano the Commander of the Gaza Division, Brig. Gen. Oded Basyuk who Commands the 162nd Division as well as other officers and commanders.

Eisenkot expressed his appreciation for the work done by the officers and soldiers of the units during the intense rocket barrage and Gaza border conflicts.

The activities of both the defensive and offensive elements in the IDF presented and various aspects of the use of force were discussed. Eisenkot encouraged the commanders to maintain the level of preparedness amid the forces and maintain the increased military presence in the area.
