High Court Refuses Appeal of Family of Terrorist – Entire Building Will Be Demolished

Israel’s High Court of Justice has decided on Monday that the home of the terrorist who murdered IDF soldier Ronen Lubarsky will have his entire building destroyed.

The terrorist, Islam Naji Abu Hmeid, killed Lubarsky in May during an IDF operation in the West Bank when Hmeid dropped a stone slab on top of Lubarsky’s head.

His family, who had received a warning letter from the IDF in September stating that their building will be demolished filed an appeal with the High Court of Justice. The appeal was rejected paving the way for the total demolition of the terrorist’s home.

The court ruled that despite the harm caused to the family by the loss of their home, the need for Israel to maintain deterrence against future attacks outweighed the harm.

The family of the slain soldier praised the court’s decision to reject the appeal.

“The home of the terrorist who murdered our son must be demolished immediately. Enough time has passed since then. We demand that the terrorist be immediately sentenced to death and that his family be immediately deported in order to prevent the next murder.”

Other’s who praised the decision were several MKs including MK Moti Yogev (Jewish Home). “In honor of Chanukah, it seems that someone shed light even on the High Court of Justice who decided to overcome obstacles and banish the darkness of murder and issue a moral judgement.”
