30 Children & Adults Taken To Galil Medical Center After Strange Rash

Thirty children and teenagers from the Jerusalem area, aged 7-14, who developed a rash, swelling and itching in their eyes and skin, were brought to the Galil Medical Center after sleeping at night in one of the forests in the Western Galil, as part of an annual trip. They arrived at the hospital later in the day on Monday, April 15, 2019.

The children, who were in light condition, underwent some diagnostic tests in the emergency room. Even before these boys arrived, five boys from the same group who had similar symptoms were brought to the medical center. The same five boys were released after being treated in the emergency room and the groups was released later as well.

Emergency room director, Dr. Benny Raviv said that the rash was a response to a certain irritation that was apparently caused by the presence of an insect or vegetation in the forest where they camped.
