Another Failed Inspection In Yeshivat Ateret Yisrael Due To Rebellious Talmidim

State inspectors from the Ministry of Education on Wednesday arrived at Yeshivat Ateret Shlomo after the yeshiva failed an inspection some two weeks ago due to internal problems in the yeshiva.

The talmidim received a verbal notification of the latest inspection, instructed to appear immediately. Talmidim were informed that anyone not appearing will not be permitted to participate in any framework of the yeshiva. In addition, they have been told that anyone not appearing jeopardizes his status as a ‘ben torah’ vis-à-vis avoiding IDF service.

Despite the severity of the warning and call to the talmidim, about half of the talmidim failed to appear, reportedly intentionally.

The yeshiva decided to move to Modi’in Illit, and as a result, it was decided to drop about 100 talmidim as part of the effort by the directors to portray the yeshiva with a new label, as being more modern and more in line with the style of Kiryat Sefer, Kikar Shabbos News reports.

The talmidim decided to take action against this, organizing a petition, warning the heads of the yeshiva that they will not appear at the next Ministry of Education inspection, and on Wednesday, they made good on the threat.
