VIDEO/PHOTOS: Arrests As Israeli Social Workers Take To The Streets

Israeli social workers on Wednesday were back out on the streets, protesting what they call “an untenable situation” regarding their employment realities, the lack of security for social workers, who are frequent targets of verbal and physical attacks.

The head of the union, Inbal Hermoni, demands the state allocate the necessary funding to provide security personnel to permit them to continue working in a profession fashion as they do, without fear of attack.

Inbal insists that today, “We are unable to work as we should. We are placing ourselves in danger and endangering those who we treat as we are working in unprotected facilities. We are back in the streets because nothing has been done to improve the situation to date”.

The social workers are also demanding an increase in salary.
