State Attorney Recommends Deri Be Brought Up On Charges Again

Just nine months have passed since the Police recommended that Interior Minister and Head of the Shas faction Aryeh Deri be brought to stand trial for a series of crimes, the State Attorney, Shai Nitzan also joined the call and recommended to Attorney General Avichai Mandelblit that Deri be brought before the courts.

According to Nitzan and the police, there is enough evidence to bring Deri to trial for the crimes of fraud, money-laundering, tax related crimes and some unspecified obstruction crimes.

Mandelblit is the person who needs to determine whether or not to bring Deri to stand trial. Mandelblit will likely only make that decision after the next round of elections is over.

According to a report that appeared on Channel 13 news in Israel, the file against Deri is complicated and will take a number of months to review and prepare before Mandelblit can make his official recommendation one way or another.
