ANIMAL: Palestinian Nursing Home Worker in Jerusalem Indicted for Assaulting Holocaust Survivor

The Jerusalem District Prosecutor handed down a criminal indictment against Div Abdullah, 48, a resident of Ein Naqquba in Central Israel, for allegedly abusing and beating a patient in his charge in a nursing home in Maale HaChamisha.

The victim mentioned in the indictment is an 89-year-old female, who was beaten and left injured by a person responsible for her care. According to the indictment, on October 22, 2019, the accused, who is employed in the nursing home in Maale HaChamisha, assaulted the victim numerous times during a night shift.

The victim, a Holocaust survivor who has dementia, was attacked while in her bed, unable to defend herself in any way – not even capable of calling for help. The accused struck her in her face and her head, then covering her face with a blanket. He then poured water on her from a bottle, all while she was lying in her bed.

As a result of the defendant’s actions described above, the complainant had a hematoma under the left eye and hemorrhage and swelling on the right side of her chest. The elderly woman was in pain for days in areas where he punched her. In his actions, the defendant caused the elderly victim serious injuries.
