Hundreds attended the heartrending levaya of Binyamin Lev, H’y, a lone soldier from France who served in the Paratroopers Brigade and fell on Monday in the battle against the henious Hamas terrorists.
Binyamin, H’yd, the son of HaRav Natanel Lev, a Chabad chassid from France, lost his life saving Jews in the Gaza border area.
Hundreds of people – Chareidi, Datii, and secular – heeded requests on social media to attend the levaya.
Reb Netanel said that Binyamin, H’yd, who was due to be released from the army in a month, was in the final stages of a shidduch. “So if not at your chasunah, at least we’ll accompany you now.”
Reb Netanel added: “On Sukkos, I told him – ‘You’re doing a great thing, you’re being moser nefesh for Am Yisrael.’ Choking on his tears, Reb Netanel continued: ‘I didn’t mean this.”
The family launched a “???? ??????” campaign l’illui nishmasho and set a goal of 15,000 Jews donning tefillin l’illui nishmas Binyamin, H’yd, ben R’ Netanel.
