The Hamas terror organization engaged in another act of psychological warfare on Shabbos, releasing a video of Elkana Bochbot and Yosef Chaim Ohana.
The cruel video shows Elkana lying on a mattress with a picture of him and his young son on the wall next to him. Only Yosef Chaim speaks in the video and says [in statements scripted by his captors] that Elkana tried to harm himself after realizing how long the war was dragging on.
“His mental and physical state has seriously deteriorated since we realized the war was dragging on for months,” he says. “Since then, he’s been trying to hurt himself again and again. He’s refusing to eat or drink.”
“How is this war still going on?” he continued. “How has it not stopped? Tell me — have you all gone mad? A year and seven months. What else needs to happen that hasn’t already? An entire country wants this to end. This nightmare. Enough! It’s time to stop.”
Hamas previously released a video of the two on March 24 and released another video of just Bochbot on April 19.
Bochbot, 34, a husband and father of a young son, was abducted from the Nova music festival.
Ohana, 24, from Kiryat Malachi, was also abducted from Nova. When the attack began, Yosef Chaim and his friend began to flee the area. But when they encountered Israelis wounded by Hamas gunfire, the two, both trained as medics during their army service, stopped to help them. Eventually, they ran in different directions when they themselves were targeted by Hamas terrorists. His friend survived and Yosef Chaim was abducted.
