A Hamas terrorist who took part in the October 7 massacre in Israel is living freely in Belgium, the Jewish Information and Documentation Center (JID) has revealed.

The JID organization, a Belgian antisemitism watchdog, reported that Hamas terrorist Mohand Al-Khatib, who was filmed participating in the massacre, lives as a free man in Brussels, regularly posts anti-Israel content on social media, and travels freely to other EU countries. He is not subject to any security monitoring by Belgian security agencies.

JID vice president Ralph Pais told Israel’s Channel 12 that Al-Khatib is clearly seen in the attack videos from October 7, armed in Israeli territory. Now living in Belgium, Al-Khatib openly speaks about his role and identity and spreads propaganda praising the perpetrators of the massacre and other anti-Israel incitement.

“If ordinary citizens, using only open-source research, can identify a Hamas terrorist, how is it possible that the country’s security services didn’t do so?” Pais said. “Who approved the entry of these people without screening, and how many individuals with blood on their hands are now living in Belgium near our schools, shuls, and children?”

The Jewish kehilla is outraged by the report and fearful of terrorists with blood on their hands roaming freely near their children.

According to JID, this is just the tip of the iceberg. The lack of thorough security checks poses a real danger not only to the Jewish communities in Belgium and neighboring countries but to all European citizens.

JIDF filed a complaint to the Belgian police along with a copy of the 65-page investigation they carried out on Al-Khatib. The organization demanded that an immediate investigation be launched against Al-Khatib along with the thousands of Gazans who have entered Belgium since the massacre.
