Iran President Claims ‘Total War’ With U.S., Israel And Europe As Tehran Pushes To Rebuild Nuclear Program

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian declared that the Islamic Republic is engaged in a “total war” against the United States, Israel, and Europe, as Tehran works to rebuild its damaged nuclear infrastructure and deepen ties with terrorist groups including Hamas.

In an interview published Saturday by Iranian state media and reported by Barron’s, Pezeshkian issued a sweeping warning about what he described as an unprecedented, multi-front confrontation with the West.

“In my opinion, we are at total war with the United States, Israel and Europe. They want to bring our country to its knees,” Pezeshkian said.

He went on to compare the current standoff to Iran’s brutal eight-year war with Iraq in the 1980s, claiming today’s conflict is even more severe.

“This war is worse than the one launched against us by Iraq. On closer inspection, it is far more complex and difficult,” he said.

The remarks come as Iran faces renewed international pressure, including UN sanctions spearheaded by France, Britain, and Germany over Tehran’s continued pursuit of nuclear weapons capabilities.

Pezeshkian’s comments also follow the recent 12-day war with Israel in June, during which Israeli forces — backed by powerful U.S. airstrikes — inflicted extensive damage on Iran’s nuclear facilities, setting back key components of the regime’s program.
