A potentially catastrophic incident was narrowly avoided on Thursday in Jerusalem, after a fuel tanker fell from a height and crashed into the middle of a major highway near the chareidi neighborhood of Neve Yaakov.
Dramatic video footage shows the tanker plunging directly onto the roadway. Bichasdei Hashem, the truck did not strike any vehicles, and miraculously no injuries were reported.
Fire and rescue teams were immediately dispatched to the scene after hazardous materials were seen leaking from the tanker. Emergency crews worked quickly to secure the area, prevent a possible explosion or fire, and ensure the safety of motorists and nearby residents.
Authorities said the outcome could have been far more severe, as the highway is typically heavily trafficked during the time of day the incident occurred.
An investigation has been launched to determine how the tanker fell onto the roadway.

Not sure where you get that “hazardous materials were seen leaking from the vehicle” – the cards on the tanker clearly say “חומר לא מסוכן” – non-hazardous material. There’s a requirement for placards on such tankers that give info on what’s in it, generally via a code – but while this was dangerous incident due to the fall of the tank and the uncertainty about exactly what was leaking, you should not exagerate.

What a Neis Galuy!! Hodu L’Hashem Ki Tov!!!
It could have been a Rookie driver who didn’t know how to drop a trailer on not level ground.
It was definitely petrol inside the tanker. My grandchildren were kept on lockdown in school because of the strong smell and my son, who drove past it just after the accident, before they closed the highway, could see and smell the petrol flowing out. I have his video of it in which you see people catching the petrol in containers!

That has happened multiple times in places like Nigeria, followed by massive petrol fires resulting in dozens of casualties.
Were the people in the video Arabs from Beit Hanina, or another shining example of the brilliant Chareidi respect for safety which we’ve seen so often recently?
