A yeshivah bochur from Ohel Yosef Yeshiva in Jerusalem was arrested on Sunday afternoon in the Ramot neighborhood of Jerusalem, Kikar H’Shabbat reported.
The arrest took place near the bochur’s home, in the heart of the Chareidi neighborhood in Jerusalem. A police vehicle stopped near the bochur’s house while he was outside after coming home for Shabbos home.
Officers got out of the vehicle and arrested him on the spot.
According to the family, the arrest was carried out by the Military Police, on the grounds that he failed to report to the enlistment office, in accordance with the instructions of Gedolei Yisrael.
As in previous cases, the bochur is Sephardi.

Rav Shach, ztl, once said that there would come a time when they will try to draft all the bochurim, R”l, and that the only eitza at that time will be to send all of them out of the country (presumably when they’re still young). A poster from the early days of the Medina said that yehareig v’al yaavor applies only when there is no way to escape, but whoever has a way to escape is required to do so. (This appears in uncensored versions of the Rambam.) The implication, according to the poster, was that if giyus banos were to become a reality, as it was then threatening to do, anyone with daughters in danger would be required to move out of the country. Is anyone taking this seriously now?
