In one of the most intense and coordinated military offensives in modern Middle East history, the United States and Israel unleashed a staggering wave of airpower on Iran — carrying out more than 1,400 strikes within just 12 hours.

The IDF confirmed that over 200 Israeli Air Force aircraft participated in the largest aerial assault ever conducted by Israel, striking approximately 500 Iranian targets in a single night.

According to the IDF, the unprecedented operation unfolded in two major waves.

The first wave targeted dozens of radar installations and anti-aircraft defense systems, particularly in western Iran and around Tehran — clearing the path for follow-up strikes and degrading Iran’s ability to track and intercept incoming aircraft.

The second wave focused heavily on Iran’s ballistic missile infrastructure, aiming to cripple Tehran’s ability to strike the Israeli home front. Among the key targets was a major site in the Tabriz area, from which the Islamic Republic had previously launched dozens of ballistic missiles toward Israel.

In central Iran, near Qom, the IDF struck a missile launch site containing hundreds of kilograms of explosives. The military said the strike “thwarted dozens of launches toward the territory of the State of Israel.”

Simultaneously, Israeli forces worked to reestablish sustained air superiority — similar to what was achieved in June 2025 — allowing drones and aircraft to loiter over potential launch zones in order to eliminate missile teams before they could fire.

But the Israeli offensive was only part of the massive campaign.

According to Fox News, citing a U.S. official, the American military launched nearly 900 strikes during the first 12 hours of Operation Epic Fury.

The strikes were carried out from land, air, and sea platforms and included drones, while U.S. forces simultaneously defended against hundreds of incoming Iranian ballistic missiles.

The U.S. official stated that the objective of the operation is to eliminate Iran’s “capability to attack its neighbors: no drones, no missiles, no navy.”

Despite the devastating scale of the assault, officials acknowledged that Iran still retains a number of active air defense systems that must be suppressed before coalition forces can operate more freely over Iranian skies.

Iran is believed to possess roughly 2,000 long-range missiles and another 2,000 shorter-range projectiles — stockpiles that were reportedly replenished after previous U.S. and Israeli strikes last summer.

The American official indicated that the campaign could last “a couple of weeks,” though **Donald Trump** could opt to conclude operations sooner.
