Government to Supreme Court: Chareidi Conscription Will Not Be Advanced During War With Iran

Shuki Lehrer

The government informed the Supreme Court on Thursday evening that it will not move forward at this stage with the issue of the conscription of Chareidim into the IDF, citing the ongoing war with Iran and the intensive military operation currently underway.

In the official position submitted to the court, the government stated that all attention and resources of the political leadership are presently directed toward managing the security campaign and supporting the home front.

Cabinet Secretary Yossi Fuchs noted that since the launch of Operation Roaring Lion, all relevant bodies—including the ministerial team established to address Chareidi conscription— have halted their work on the matter. “The government’s primary effort is focused on achieving victory in this existential war and providing support to civilians, and at this time, it is simply not possible to return to dealing with a matter that remains under dispute.”

The announcement comes in response to petitions to the court demanding that the state resolve the draft question and avoid further delays. However, the government emphasized that the exceptional security circumstances necessitate a temporary postponement of the discussion.

  1. To the radical Israeli left, with whom Gali Baharav-Miara and some of the Supreme Court Justices align themselves, the existential problem Israel must deal with is the chareidim, rather than Iran. Forced conscription to the IDF is their solution to reprogram chareidi youth. The government played it smart by trying to postpone the issue while at war; it will be hard for the Supreme Court to publicly disagree with them.
Let’s remember, though, that we are not in the hands of the Israeli government, the machsheifa Miara, or the Supreme Court of Injustice – nor Iran, Hizbollah, or anyone else.
Remembering that אין עוד מלבדו is the key to surviving this test and ushering in ימות המשיח.

  2. So many naive Jews take her side and the Supreme Court on this but they forget that this unelected Rogue corrupt Court that lives to serve terrorists and Arabs are the voices calling to take boys out of Yeshiva to their filthy abortion clinic of a military. It didn’t come from Netanyahu or his government, they are the ones that want the law to stay in place. So really the Jews speaking against the Torah will have a lot to answer for because they are worse than even the secular Israeli government that agreed to the status quo for 75 years ( and more if not for the court cancelation)
