Physicians in Nahariya Hospital on Wednesday morning only treated emergency cases for a two-hour period while they held a protest assembly to discuss the alarming increase in physical assaults against doctors and medical personnel in Israel.

The latest assault incident occurred on Tuesday, when the wife of a patient in the orthopedic ward attacked a doctor after he told them a scheduled surgical procedure was postponed. The doctor was not seriously injured.
