Jerusalem Deputy Mayor Pindrus Threatened

pindrus.jpgJerusalem Deputy Mayor R’ Yitzchak Pindrus has been instructed by police to arm himself with teargas in light of recent threats against him.

The Karta parking lot issue resulted in threats against Mayor Nir Barkat, followed by threats against others, including chareidi city councilmen Chadrei Chareidim reports. It appears that extremist elements identified with the chareidi tzibur have threatened the deputy mayor for remaining in the coalition led by Barkat. Pashkavilim threatening him have been seen in the city, the report adds.

Last week, with an increase in the threats against Pindrus, police armed him with teargas to fight off an assault if chas v’sholom extremists take it to the next level. Pindrus, like the mayor, has been assigned bodyguards, who accompanied him and his family to Netanya for shabbos.
