Barak & His Family Threatened if He Harms Settlements

barakn.jpgAnonymous threatening letters was received in the Defense Ministry of late, addressed to Defense Minister Ehud Barak. Threats were made against him and members of his family in a specific letter released on Tuesday night. The latest letter contained a threat “I will kill you before you destroy more yishuvim” officials report. According to the Channel 10 News report, the letter specifically mentions harming the minister’s children. The letter has sparked a wave of condemnation and cross-accusations, from the left and right.

Reports indicate the ISA (Israel Security Agency – Shin Bet) has issued a warning that there are dozens of right-wing extremists who may indeed take threats to the next level, if and when they believe progress is being made in talks between Israel and the PA (Palestinian Authority).

Officials report that of late, security for a number of senior officials has been increased. Over recent weeks threats were received by Israel Police Chief Dudi Cohen, the defense minister, and others, prompting security and intelligence officials to reevaluate the situation.

Shaul Goldstein, who heads the Gush Etzion Regional Council, feels a real threat is not preceded by a letter, telling Israel Radio that Yigal Amir did not send any letters prior to assassinating Prime Minister Yitzchak Rabin. He cautioned against generalizations and pointing an accusing finger at the residents of Yehuda and Shomron, when it is known the overwhelming majority of them are law-abiding citizens.

Others caution that the letter could indeed have been sent by members of the radical left-wing, a provocation that understandably would lead to a growing consensus against the right-wing, similar to the situation that preceded the Rabin assassination.

Whatever theory one wishes to accept, some question the motive of government officials who decided to leak the letter to the media, a move that obviously was calculated to serve a specific political agenda.

  1. “a move that obviously was calculated to serve a specific political agenda.”
LET’S BE A LITTLE MORE BLUNT!
This letter MAY actually have been written by the left as part of a conspiracy against the right, and was definitely spread in the media to smear the right.
The shmutzniks like barak and his ilk want to further demonize the right-wing in general, and those living in Yehuda and Shomron in particular, to gain general support for his seditious plans to give these areas over to the yishmaeli enemy.
Don’t be fooled! The real, full story of the Rabin assassination and the left’s part in it, has also yet to be written.

  2. They havent arrested anyone, nor do I think that they will b/c they know the letter is a fake. This is definatley a plot to create more sympathy for the left wing agenda. They are feeding into the “stereotype” right wing crazy.

  3. nevermind, i shouldnt talk bad about someone when i dont understand all the issues. none of us know the real issues unless we’re briefed by intelligence. none of us have been briefed on the actual situation that exists. but then again if anyone is unclear on the real issues its the left.
