Predictable Bibi: Strong Statements but Lacking Fortitude

As was the case during his first term in office, and regarding the 10-month construction freeze, Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu remains the extraordinary orator, but in his case, that is all there is.

The ideologically void prime minister once again exhibits his true agenda, riding out the storm, remaining in office, maintaining a stable coalition at all cost, at the expense of Eretz Yisrael. From the many who handed Chevron to Israel’s enemies, who announced there would never recognize a Palestinian state and then accepted the two-state solution; we bring you the latest round of concessions.

Seeking to get back in the White House’s good graces, the prime minister agreed that upcoming talks with the PA (Palestinian Authority) will include ‘core issues’, namely the division of Yerushalayim and construction in the capital, not to mention easing of the Gaza embargo. It appears that President Barak Obama and the prime minister forgot to mention Gilad Shalit in the equation.

Regarding construction, the prime minister promised the White House he will personally supervise all Jerusalem construction, translated to mean, reduced construction in Yerushalayim.

The prime minister succeeded in getting elected due to the lack of alternatives, not because of his integrity or ideology. Over the years he has capitalized on his flowering Likud past, the fact that his brother Yoni HY”D fell in the line of duty rescuing Israeli hostages in Entebbe in 1996, but in essence, he has done little more than speak and hand portions of Eretz Yisrael to our enemies.

Building throughout Yehuda and Shomron has come to a virtual standstill, a situation that did not exist even under previous administrations of Ehud Olmert and Ariel Sharon.

On the eve of his visit to Washington, Israel’s super statesman has caved-in again, and he will undoubtedly issue bold statements, clarifications to assure the public that he acquiescence is not tantamount to capitulation and compromise, but he will tell us to remain calm, that he is in control, and he will never compromise Israel’s strategic interests. Sadly, he already has.

Working towards expediting the process, US special envoy George Mitchell will be arriving in Israel on Sunday to begin laying the groundwork for renewed talks with the PA (Palestinian Authority), talks that are already sorely imbalanced in favor of the establishment of a terrorist state, another Hamastan as exists today in Gaza.

We can also expect to see another Israeli good-will gesture, the release of additional terrorists to strengthen the position of lame duck PA leader Abu Mazen, who merely holds a symbolic post until such time Hamas opts to topple him and inherit all of the good will and concession given by Israel.

According to a Sunday Times report, while in Washington to address an AIPAC (The American Israel Public Affairs Committee) event, the prime minister will request smart bunker-busting bombs from the US for a possible military assault against Iran.

Defense Minister Ehud Barak, Minister of National Infrastructure Dr. Uzi Landau and opposition leader Tzipi Livni will accompany the prime minister to Washington.

  1. I want to throw up after reading this. The Palestinians don’t want peace. Hamas will NEVER allow peace and what they are asking for is unreasonable and they will never get. How about Obama putting some pressure on the Palestinians for once? Stop making them victims and stop turning a blind eye to Palestinian rocket attacks and other forms of terror. Enough is enough!

I totally agree with this article. Bibi is all talk. He’s like Obama, just with a lot less power.
The sad truth is, all of the PM’s who we thought would be good were terrible, Barak, Sharon, now Bibi round 2.
There is NOBODY in the Israeli govt system with a backbone.

  2. If the entire klal, Chareidim included, supported and befriended Netanyahu, and taught him the importance of bitachon and that the RBSH will surely protect the nation come what may, maybe he would have more strength. However, when the Frum are too busy with their constant knocking of him and the Medinah for the last 100 years then what do you expect? Where is he supposed to learn bitachon from, the secular?

  3. Pashuteh Yid, If the entire klal,Charedim included, would open their gemaras and learn Torah and keep the Mitzvas then we wouldn’t be sitting around like fools arguing about what some know-nothing chilloni should have said to some skinny president somewhere.

We would have the Eretz Yisrael we all want.
