Police Request To Place Ofra Protestors Under House Arrest Rejected

Houses are seen in the West Bank Jewish settlement of Ofra, north of RamallahThe Lod District Court on erev Shabbos rejected a request from Israel Police to place Ofra detainees under house arrest. The police request referred to those youths who were atop of the roof and were engaged in the standoff with police in the eviction from nine homes in Ofra. While the process should have been completed in a number of hours, it took an additional day as these protestors were unwilling to leave without a confrontation with security forces as most did.

Judge Yaakov Sheinman was unwilling to place five youths under house arrest, explaining police failed to build a case justifying such a move. They were released on bail ranging from NIS 5,000 to NIS 15,000 however.

  1. How many more Jewish cities is the self-appointed-for-life high court giving away to Arabs? Did the cities given to Arabs on a silver platter bring peace and security? Definitely not! If anything, it brought terrorism closer to Tel Aviv.

And what about the thousands of illegal Arab homes? Why isn’t he high court enforcing the law for them? Why are only Jews evicted?

Isn’t it time for Israelis to wake up and stop the apathy and evict the self-appointed judges?
