IDF Jails Commanders After Soldier Is Accidentally Left Behind

The IDF says a “grave incident” occurred during an operation in the town of Qabatiya, in northern Samaria. A Maglan commando team moved between buildings and accidentally left behind a soldier who had fallen asleep.

The soldier was alone for about 40 minutes before managing to locate another IDF unit.

Following the internal investigation, a team commander, a squad commander, and two soldiers were jailed over the incident, which the military says should never have happened.
