Venezuelan opposition leader and 2025 Nobel Peace Prize winner María Corina Machado is scheduled to meet President Trump at the White House on Thursday, a senior White House official told CNN.

* The meeting comes after U.S. military strikes in Caracas and the capture of Nicolás Maduro, whose vice president Delcy Rodríguez has been sworn in as acting president.

* Trump previously said it would be difficult for Machado to lead Venezuela, saying she does not have the support or respect of the people.

* Machado suggested she would offer Trump her Nobel Prize, but the Norwegian Nobel Institute said the prize cannot be transferred.
