Secretary of State Marco Rubio issued a sharply worded statement condemning Hezbollah’s calls to overthrow Lebanon’s government, accusing the terror group of deliberately destabilizing the country by continuing attacks on Israel and moving fighters and weapons into southern Lebanon.

Rubio stressed that the United States fully backs Lebanon’s legitimate government and reconstruction efforts, while warning that Hezbollah’s attempts to drag the country back into chaos “will not be allowed to succeed.”
