According to a report by Semafor, a joint venture between a U.S. defense startup and a Saudi company is building a drone factory near Riyadh to manufacture long-range combat drones modeled after Iran’s Shahed system.
The project developed by SR2Vector, a partnership between Utah-based Vector Defense and Saudi startup SR2 Defense Systems, will produce the “SKYWASP” one-way attack drone, which reportedly has a strike range of up to 1,500 kilometers, roughly the distance from northeastern Saudi Arabia to Tehran.
