CENTCOM ENDS BLOCKADE: U.S. Reopens Access To Iranian Ports, Says Naval Forces Will Remain To Monitor Compliance With Iran Deal

CENTCOM announced Thursday that the U.S. has lifted its blockade on all maritime traffic entering and leaving Iranian ports and coastal areas, in accordance with President Trump’s directive.

The military said all blockade enforcement operations have ceased and vessels are now free to transit to and from Iranian ports in the Arabian Gulf and Gulf of Oman. CENTCOM added that U.S. naval forces will remain in the region to monitor compliance with the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding.
