Brooklyn Heights Jewish Academy Raising the Heights of Education

This upcoming Sunday and Monday, December 16 and 17, Brooklyn Heights Jewish Academy will launch a 36-hour campaign to raise the standard and heights of education for young students across the borough.

BHJA was founded by Rabbi Aaron L. Raskin, the oldest grandchild of Rabbi Jacob J. Hecht, shliach of the Rebbe to Brooklyn Heights, and author of Letters of Light among other books. He has more than 300 video-lectures on Jewish.TV.

In the few years since its inception, Brooklyn Heights Jewish Academy has relentlessly endeavored to raise the heights of education, in Judaic and general studies, by providing a warm, holistic education that integrates subjects in a safe and friendly environment.

Education is a basic right. That doesn’t mean an education should be basic. BHJA has strived to incorporate the highest level of academics with a thoroughly personal understanding of Judaism. The result is an individualized learning experience that greets and leaves students with a sense of wonder and excitement in their world. It also results in great test scores, but that is an inevitable by-product of a superior education, not the focus.

By working closely with the community, taking the time to understand the needs and concerns of parents, students, and faculty, Brooklyn Jewish Heights Academy has continued, year after year, to shine as a premier example of Jewish thought and STEM academics in perfect balance. BHJA’s ability to accommodate each student is thanks to their remarkable faculty-to-student ratio, one of the best across the boroughs, and the teachers’ own personal commitment to every student.

On Sunday and Monday, the 16th and 17th of December, BHJA is partnering with families and community in a 36-hour matching campaign to raise $300,000. Starting at 9 AM, every dollar given to the campaign will be tripled thanks to the generous support of like-minded community members who believe a quality education should be accessible to all.
