Peleg Threatens to Break the Deal with Bnei Brak City Hall Regarding Shul Being Removed

While Bnei Brak Mayor Avraham Rubinstein reportedly reached agreement with Peleg Yerushalmi representatives regarding the removal of Beit Knesset Darchei Shmuel, which was established on public land designated as greenery area, the Peleg is now threatening to break the agreement. City Hall announced the shul, which is located in the Kiryat Herzog neighborhood, would be removed as the city cracks down on buildings situated illegally on public land, along with a Belz-Chassidus affiliated shul, which is also on public green land.

Work has started on preparing the land near a community center for the shul, the person responsible for the community center (matnas), a Likud activist, is expressing his objections to placing the shul near the center. Following the objections, Peleg leaders have learned the plot of land designated for the shul is at the heart of a controversy with the Jewish Agency for Israel, which claims ownership of the land.

The Jewish Agency succeeded in getting a restraining order against the city regarding the plot of land, preventing the city from beginning construction on the plot of land in question. Peleg officials are angry with the city’s top legal advisor, Ariel Yunger, insisting there is no way in the world that he is unaware of the fact that the city is offering a contested piece of land as the new site for the shul.

Bnei Brak Councilman Shmuel Deutsch, who is affiliated with the Peleg, is now stating it is absolutely prohibited according to the Torah to remove the shul until the new shul is up in its place.

Adding to the anger, some Peleg avreichim took loans to obtain funding to begin building and now, they have learned the money has been invested in a controversial plot of land. It remains to be seen if talks between the Peleg and City Hall will continue or if the Peleg will blow up talks and return to protests against the removal of the shul.

  1. So much fake news in one article, wow!

First of all, they never agreed to any deal. The mayor offered them this contested plot of land as a way to silence them, but they never agreed to it. It should be noted that the representatives of the Belz and Sefardi shuls were promised that nothing would happen to their shuls until they agreed upon a replacement. While the representatives of the Eitz shul were told to either accept this plot of land, or nothing, and they have until [this past] Shabbos to submit an answer.

Another thing, YWN likes to emphasize that the Darkei Shmuel shul was built on green property, but fails to mention that there are an additional 5 shuls that are built on that complex, and they are all in the same legal status, yet only the Eitz shul received a demolition order. It should also be noted that the municipality of Bnei Brak generally turns a blind eye to such cases as there isnt much room left to build in Bnei Brak.

Another thing, I want to be mocheh on the kavod of one of the Gedolei Hador, Maran HaGaon HaGadol HaRav Shmuel Duetch Shlita, famed Rosh Yeshiva in Yeshivas Kol Torah whom you have labled a Bnei Brak councilman. I only hope it was a mistake.

Lastly, there were no protests yet as the mayor has yet to carry out the demolition order. But if the mayor does go ahead with such a low act as to destroy a Mikdash Me’at over politics, he will face the wrath of caring Yidden all over the world.

  2. Peleg does not recognize law and nothing can stand in the way of their desires so they fight and scream and cause public disgrace to get their way like a spoiled brat who yells and screams until his parents give him what he wants….

  3. ” Bnei Brak Councilman Shmuel Deutsch ” ?!? For your information the person at issue is Maran Hagaon Harav Shmuel Deutsch Shlit”a , Rosh Yeshivas Kol Torah and member of the Moetzes Gedolei Olam Hatorah . As it is clear to all that Rubinstein has no intention of reaching a suitable solution but is rather intent on taking revenge on the Kehilla of Maran Hagaon Harav Smue Auerbach ZTVK”L for personal political motivations . Hagaon Harav Deutsch Shlit”a has therefore stated that it is absolutely prohibited according to the Torah to tear down and desecrate the Mikdash M’eat .

  4. “Bnei Brak councilmen shmuel Deitch” is Rav Shmuel Deitch Rosh Yeshivas Kol Torah for the past 40 years and recognized by all as one of the greatest gaonim alive today and the righthand man of Rav Shach in all inyanei tzibur. I hope that’s not a sign of the accuracy of reports on what’s going on in Israel by YWN.
The peleg shul was promised a lot for the shul which turns out that there was a court order 11 months ago against any building on that lot, looks like they were promised a place which there is no chance of it ever being able to be used by them. Rubinstein reportedly has promised Belz that they will not be evacuated until another place is found. It seems Belz is being used so it should not look like the peleg shul is being destroyed because of bad blood between them and the establishment

  5. Give them their Soul.
    Build & pay for it.
    IN IRAN
Throw them all out of Israel. They hate it here anyway. They just like the money.
