As the new Elul Z’man started this morning, the sound of Torah was reverberating throughout the walls of Batei Medrashim the world over. But the Mirrer Yeshiva has a completely new feeling today. After working 24/6 for the last four weeks they have pulled off an amazing task which all doubted would actually come to fruition. The brand new Bais Hamedrash was opened today for Shacharis and is packed with Bochrim and Kollel Yungerleit learning at this time.

To all those who are familiar with the Mirrer Yeshiva Bais Medrash and will one day visit it again, you are in for a shock. It was beautifully re-designed with a gorgeous modern look to it, yet the Kol Torah is the same one that’s been heard on “Avenue R” for the last 50 years.

Beautiful arched windows have replaced the old square ones. Radiant heating was placed under the floor (radiators were done away with) and covered with a magnificent stone floor. The ceiling was completely redesigned with fabulous metabolic lighting. All new beautiful mahogany wood covers the walls, which include magnificent large spacious Seforim Shranks. A new HVAC system was installed. A grand new entrance has been put in place as well.

The Aron Kodesh, the “Mizrach wall” woodwork, & center lighting fixtures will I”H be installed before Rosh Hashanah.

New Shtenders and chairs have been ordered as well.
