Agriprocessors recalling Kosher Hot-dogs


franks2.jpgfranks1.jpgAgriprocessors is voluntarily recalling approximately 2,700 pounds of frankfurters due to possible under-processing, the USDA announced today. The following products are subject to recall: (Click on images to ENLARGE actual packages.)

1)Two-pound vacuum-packed packages of “SUPREME KOSHER, FAMILY PACK CLASSIC FRANKFURTERS MADE WITH BEEF & CHICKEN.”

2)One-pound vacuum-packed packages of “SUPREME KOSHER, CLASSIC FRANKFURTERS MADE WITH BEEF & CHICKEN.”

Each label bears the establishment number, “EST. 4653A” inside the USDA mark of inspection. The labels also bear the Use-by date “March 16, 07.”

The frankfurters were produced on November 15, 2006 and were shipped to retail establishments and institutions in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania.

The problem was discovered by an Agriprocessors, Inc., employee. FSIS has received no reports of illnesses from consumption of these products.

The USDA has also labeled this as a health hazard situation where there is a reasonable probability that the use of the product will cause serious, adverse health consequences or death.
