Ex-NJ Trooper Arrested For Threat Against Obama

arrest6.jpgWCBS-TV has confirmed that a retired New Jersey state trooper was arrested within the last two weeks for making a threat against President Barack Obama. The nature of the threat is unknown.

At some point after learning of the threat, law enforcement officials searched his New Jersey home and found “an arsenal.”

It is not known whether the alleged threats against the president were made to coincide with his trip to the tri-state area on Tuesday and Wednesday.

President Obama was in New York City on Tuesday applauding the efforts of the NYPD-FBI Joint Terrorism Task Force. He then attended a couple fundraisers to raise money for the Democratic party.

On Wednesday, Obama is scheduled to campaign with Governor Jon Corzine.

No further details were released as of this posting.

  1. Very suspicious story. It is not unusual for a member of LE, ex or not, or even gun owners, in general, to own “an arsenal”.

  2. if someone wants to really to harm to a president would they really make threat? of course not they would quietly go and do it.which is why this guy was just fed up and was just a threat with no intention of carrying it out, just the media loves this so take it for what its worth.to prove my point Whats the deal with “arsenal” its perfectly legal for someone to own a million guns if he pleases they put the name arsenal on it for shock effect.

  3. One person’s “arsenal” is another person’s “gun collection”. I don’t know what, if anything, was in the mind of this individual as far as considering something criminal, but one doesn’t have to go far to find serious disgust with this president. Just turn on any talk radio show.

  4. #3, I turned on WBAI, 99.5, and I did not hear disgust about this president, which is disgusting. Other than for a few programs, WBAI is repulsive, but so are some of the talk shows on the right. Not all, but some (most).

  5. If he’s been arrested, we have to assume he made a true threat, not an obviously hypothetical or hyperbolic one, let alone a mere wish for the president’s death. But of course we don’t know that. If it turns out not to be so, then the arresting officers face a civil rights suit.
