Terrorist Shooting Attack in Shomron – Father Of 7 Killed [UPDATED 9:33PM IL]


ywbn18.gif4:47PM IL: [ALL UPDATES BELOW] According to preliminary reports from the scene, an Israeli has been gravely injured in a shooting attack in Shomron, between the communities of Shavei Shomron and Einav.

According to the director-general of Magen David Adom, the emergency medical service received reports of a serious car accident, which turned out to be a shooting attack. MDA Directer General Eli Bin confirms that the victim is in grave condition.

It is unknown at this time if the gunfire came from a passing vehicle or from a stationary ambush position.

UPDATE 5:06PM IL: The MDA physician at the shooting attack pronounced the victim dead on the scene. The victim is reported to be a male, about 45, the father of 7 children. The area is closed down as a manhunt is underway for the shooter(s).

UPDATE 5:13PM IL: Military officials report the victims vehicle flipped out of control after being hit by the gunfire, turning over.

UPDATE 9:33PM IL: The name of the shooting victim from the fatal Shomron shooting attack has been cleared for release. The victim has been identified as Rav Meir Avshalom Chai HY”D, 45, a resident of Shavei Shomron and the father of seven, the youngest being 4-months-old.

Authorities are still searching for the terrorist(s) who opened fire in a drive-by shooting attack on Thursday afternoon, not far from the victim’s home.

  1. The checkpoints were just eased in honor of X-mas. #1, you bring up a good point. If this is what happens from just easing up on checkpoints, imagine what will happen if they now release hundreds of terrorists.

I know this would never happen but the following message should be sent to the arab captitols and the “Palestinian” “Leadership” for every Jew that is attacked in Eretz Israel, the Army will take one square mile of territory back, tanks and all. The land will be immediately annexed and settlement encouraged.

  3. My daughter just called home to tell me it’s her teacher’s husband. But if the army/police are not releasing the name yet, neither will I.

  4. #6 – I would feel better if I saw a comment from you that was intelligent and not obnoxious. I wont hold my breath for that.
