Forged Letter of Maran Hagon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Disseminated To Bnei Torah

k

In act of brazen Chutzpah, and total lack of Kavod Hatorah, people involved in today’s anti-Israel protest in Manhattan tried to convince Bnei Torah to attend the event, with the release of a “new letter” appearing just after 3:00PM on Sunday afternoon, written and signed in the handwriting of Maran Hagon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita.

YWN became extremely suspicious of the timing of the letter. Rav Chaim writing such a letter an hour before the event, and changing his mind from his previous letter in which he totally agrees with the Shita of Maran HaRav Shteinman Shlita, that Bnei Torah should not go to Hafganos, to now saying that it’s a “chiyuv” to go, raised eyebrows.

YWN reached out to Mishpachas Kanievsky, who confirmed our suspicion, that someone forged the Gadol Hador’s handwriting and penned this letter which was then spread on social media, and submitted to YWN for publication.

The only authentic letter which was written is the letter previously published by YWN which was written and signed by his two sons, and undersigned by Maran Rav Chaim Shlita.

People should follow the words of their Rabbonim and do as their told.

  1. How are you so sure that it was forged ?
Did you ask Reb Chaim himself ?
Maybe Mishpachas Kanievsky does not know.

Do you think Reb Elya Ber was lying ?

  2. Well, you missed the “give away” more than the timimg and more than anything els. The “give away” is that he says גדולי ישראל שליט”א which can only ,ean the Satmar Rebbes, and he never called them in that title.

  3. To quote the New York Times: “All credibility has been lost”.

We are no longer (as if we ever did) to believe ANY letters published on ANY internet site by ANY Gadol about ANYTHING.

  4. Reply to No. 7

If you really believe the Steipler would refer to the brothers Teitelbaum as “gadolei yisroel shlita”, I have a bridge you may be interested in purchasing. YWN has been outstanding in its coverage of this event and in providing timely and accurate updates to the sequence of events. This forged letter is just another instance where we first hear about some letter issued by some gadol or gadolim, then learn that it was issued by one of his gabboim in his name or that the rav or rabbonim involved didn’t even know there names were being used in support of (or opposition to) some position or event. Its never been clear why most gadolim feel it necessary to communicate through “letters” rather than speaking to the tzibur on the record so there is no question of authenticity.

Chilld dude. Chill. I think you are being extreme. I also think that just like this one was exposed as a scam, any future ones will also. It doesn’t take much to uncover a forgery.

  6. ben18,

I do believe that you are only 18. Maybe even less. In any event, you need to see more of the world. Open your eyes more before you comment so much.

  7. To # 15, Apparently your warped and unhealthy extreme mindset believes that YWN’s “ANTI-FRAUDSTER” attitude is equated with being Pro-Zionist. Where’s the shaychus bichlal!??

Unfortunately for the normal tzibbur, there have always been krume’ (twisted thinking) people like you that draw nonsense parrallels.

It’s quite interesting that I don’t hear you screaming about the SHEKER perpetrated in a shameful attempt to draw emese Bnei Torah away from their heilige gemara’s – and all in the name of a emesdike Gadol BeTorah who wrote the exact opposite!!

    Afrah Lepumeih!!!

  8. #13: I am neither a dude (although I am male), nor extreme, but I am quite chilled.

Sometimes it takes a lot to uncover a forgery, especially if the forger has good Photoshop skills.

Besides, most of the stuff on these blogs is noise at best, and sheker and loshson hara at worst.

It’s hard enough to pick out the real facts. I get my news from other, more reliable sources (like the originators of the news), but I do visit these blogs to see the Yiddishe take. And, frankly, over the years, I’ve been getting more and more disappointed.

    Hashem Yaazor.

  9. ben18 ,

Ignore the chatterings of those attempting to smokescreen

You are far ahead of them

    You stated the blatant obvious

  10. Rabosai, why are we fighting over this Weekend just read parasha about machlokes. And yemei bein hametzorim are coming soon. Let’s be more friendlier.

  11. this goes to show what little kavod people have for gedolim. that is why I am so skeptical when I hear things in their names.
