Member Of Chabad House Was Passenger On Air France Flight

ywbn11.gifShlomo (ben Levi) Anidjar (40), a resident of Boulogne-Billancourt, France was one of the 228 passengers aboard the doomed Air France flight that went missing over the Atlantic Ocean on Monday while en-route from Brazil to France. He is married, father of three, and a member of the local Chabad community in Paris.

The Chabad Shluchim to the region (in France & Rio de Janero) are in constant contact with the family.

One of the Shluchim told Crown Heights Info that the family is still holding out and hopping for his safe return, and are asking everyone to say Tehilim for Sholomo ben Levi.

  1. And what about any and all of the other TWO HUNDRED AND FORTY SEVEN PEOPLE who we should feel bad about?????

  2. Good yiddel,

    It’s very normal for people to take a story and discuss the parts that are relevant to them.

    Please don’t take an innocent article and try to imply that nobody cares about the other passengers. It’s not what a good yiddel does.

    What have you done before YWN posted the article to show your misery about what happened, what action did you take to comfort the families? Did you send an e-mail describing how bad you felt?

    Or it so easy to nitpick and find fault in other people?

  3. i am terribly upset that a shliach was on that plane . by some miracle he may be found alive . its wishful thinking.
    its amazing that the lubavitcher shlichim are all over the world and unfortunately in harms way more than the avaerage traveller.
    they are doing the rotzhon of the rebbi and are perpetuating hashems malchus thruout the world and in places unthinkable . the united jewish community owes these people a great debt.

  4. to Goodyiddel===
    I WOULD THINK YOU MEANT TO SAY,
    and what about any and all the other
    TWO HUNDRED AND TWENTY SEVEN PEOPLE
    WHO WE SHOULD FEEL BAD ABOUT?????

    P.S SINCE THERE WAS 228 PEOPLE ON BOARD
    THAT AIR FRANCE FLIGHT THAT CRASHED INTO
    THE ATLANTIC OCEAN WHICH IS ONE TO MANY PEOPLE TO BE MISSING OR GOD FORBID DEAD!

  5. #2 to daven for him is a tfillah shav even if we are still unaware of his fate what ever it may be has already happened

  6. R”L, this is worse than the other passengers if only because his wife could C”V be an aguna, R”L. But of course we are terribly sorry for the terribly tragic loss of human life.

  7. I actually concur with Good Yidel. Here’s why. When this story broke on YWN there was one comment that said “any update”. People probably figured there were no Yiden involved so we are safe. Suddenly when news gets out that a yid was RL involved the comments and sensitivity suddenly shows, and rightly so. But where is the sensitivity when non jews are involved? How would we feel when the tragedy strikes Jews RL and the gentiles ignore the story and fail to acknowledge it? Its bad enough that the world ignored us during the Holocaust, must we show that we are the same and show no compassion when human beings are killed?

  8. I think it’s sort of tefillas shov to daven for him to be found alive. maybe we should daven that he should be able to get kevuras yisroel and that his wife should not be an aguna and that the family should be comforted and be strong …

  9. I was told that the Israeli (secular) news paper, “Yediot Acronot” showed a photo of family and friends gathered to hear news of the passengers on the flight, and among them there was a photo of a bearded chassidic looking man. s there any way YW can try to find out who this man was waiting for? Probably also someone frum. Maybe he is a relative if the chabad people.
    May Hashem console all those who lost family and friends on that flight and we should hear only happy news hereafter.

  10. we jews feel the pain of all people who suffer . unfortunately , the nations of the world , may be not all, but most do not feel pain unless its their very own.must i sight examples;
    the holocaust; the birth of medinas yisroel;
    the subsequent milchomos; sodorot; chevron; the killing of innocent civilians by terrorists;etc. etc..
    you know , presently its looks like an unfortunate event brought down the french airplane over the atlantic . possibly turbulence from extreme storms. it was my understanding that with radar, the pilots should have avoided that area . you wonder why not? or maybe a bomb ; or suicide terrorist brought down that french plane. sadly its a terrible episode; which cost many dear lives and we should determine truly what happened.228 lives lost affecting how many thousands of people ? you sometimes wonder if it safe to fly!

  11. The report does not state that he was a schliach, it only states that he was a member of the chabad house.
    May Hashem shield us from all evil
