There’s Something Crucial You Forgot to Do Before Purim

One of the most important mitzvos of Purim can sometimes be shrouded in mystery. Those who ask gedolim for guidance as to where to give have gotten a clear answer:

“It is my custom now for several years to give Matanos L’evyonim to Kupat Hair immediately after Megillah reading, and through this I have fulfilled my requirement (of Tzedaka for Purim day)”

– Rav Chaim Kanievsky
Don’t forget to join the gedolim today in Kupat Ha’Ir’s historic matanos l’evyonim campaign. At Rav Chaim Kanievsky himself’s request, 4,000 poverty-stricken families in Eretz Yisroel have been selected as being in especially dire need.

Rav Kanievsky will also daven for all those who donate, and gave a bracha to donors: That they should have a home blessed by Hashem, have healthiness and a long life, be spared from troubles, and see yeshuos.

4,000 poor families in Israel need help now. Now is the time to send Rav Chaim as your shaliach.

  1. It should be noted that עניי עירך קודמים. In Reb Chaim’s case since he resides in Bnei Brak giving to kupat hair is perfect. But for us we should support our local aniyim first.
