Zionism Classes for Chareidi and Arab Schools

MK (Yisrael Beteinu) Lia Shemtov has put forward a bill that would compel all state public schools to have Zionism classes, at least three hours weekly. The bill, which was presented to the ministerial committee, is geared to chareidi and Arab state schools.

She explains the state’s education law compels state schools to include the tradition on which the state was founded, the values that make up the Jewish democratic state.

The bill does  not contain a curriculum, leaving the content of the program in the hands of the minister of education.
