HaGaon HaRav Avrohom Elyashiv ZT”L was niftar on Wednesday, 28 Shevat 5774 in Jerusalem’s Shaare Zedek Hospital. The niftar was the ben zekunim of Posek Hador Maran HaGaon HaRav Yosef Sholom Elyashiv ZT”L, born in תש”ג.
It is reported that he remained very close to his late father and did his utmost to be at his side and see to his needs.
The levaya began from the Givat Shaul home of the niftar, led by his brother-in-law, HaGaon HaRav Chaim Kanievsky Shlita and other prominent rabbonim and roshei yeshiva. The hespedim were led by words from HaGaon Harav Shmuel Auerbach Shlita. After the hespedim the levaya proceeded to Har Menuchos for kvura. Kaddish was recited by the niftar’s brother HaGaon HaRav Moshe Elyashiv Shlita.
