  1. Baruch Dayan Emes! Oy! We must be careful not to get used to seeing our Gedoilim pass away! Each one is more precious than a diamond in a beautiful setting. Each one lived a life of toil in Torah, Mitzvos, and Yiras Shamayim plus serving klal Yisrael with every fiber of their being. We suffered in past weeks the passing of Rav Belsky ztl, the Erlou Rebbe ztl and now Rav Leibowitz each one of them an irreplaceable link in our mesorah in different aspects. Our connection to the last Generation is waning with the passing of each of these towering Gedoilim. And yet we become callus to the fact that the world has lost such greatness. I guess I’m writing this in attempt of not being this way myself, which is unfortunately natural. But on a positive note, Its comforting to know that just a few years back Rav Leibowitz lived to see the Hakomas Matzeivah of his illustrious grandfather Maran Rav Baruch Ber ztl whose derech he followed throughout his life. Yehi Zichrom Baruch.

  2. #1 – Rav Refael Shmuelevitz was also recently niftar, as well as a number of nashim tzidkoniyos vechashuvos, most prominent among them, Rebbetzin Shifra Nebenzahl.
