WATCH: Eida Chilul Shabbos Protest In Jerusalem On Shabbos

(PHOTOS IN EXTENDED ARTICLE)

Members of the Eida Chareidi tzibur were out in protest on Shabbos afternoon against chilul Shabbos in Jerusalem, as is often the case, especially on daylight savings time Shabbos afternoons.

There were shouts of a death penalty for those ignoring the Torah HaKadosha. The Jerusalem police spokesman’s report states protestors bothered passersby as they tried closing streets and stores.

The illegal protests moved to city center and confronted bar and store owners. Only then did police arrive. They returned to HaNevi’im Street and while most adults headed home, the children and youths threw items at passing vehicles. There are no reports of arrests.

  1. I think they’re all going to begin to keep Shabbos now! These activities have likely convinced the masses!
That’s it! If we violate Shabbos, we’re going to get killed! We’re starting right now!

  2. What a lack of Ahavas Yisroel these frum Jews display toward the Shabbos desecrators. I’m sure that they caused considerable waste of time when they most likely blocked some intersections. How can the desecrators get to their lunch appointment at the designated restaurant or meet their drinking partner at the agreed upon time when these Chareidim interfere with their plans?

  3. The only positive image in the article is the pained look in the first photo of one of these Eida hooligans (whose shtreimel is 3x the size of his head). As the above poster noted these demonstrations only serve to push the offenders even further away from yiddeshkeit unless there is some new study by the warped leadership of the eidah that getting hit in the head by a rock is certain to enhance ahavas yisroel.
