Anti-Israel Billionaire Bankrolls Eric Schniederman’s Campaign for Attorney General

The Jewish Week revealed today that Democratic Attorney General candidate Eric Schneiderman is the top New York recipient of funds from Billionaire financier George Soros. Soros is best known in Jewish circles for his extreme left-wing views on Israel and his secret financial support for the ultra left-wing “peace” lobby J Street.

Soros and his family have contributed an astounding $111,000 to Senator Eric Schneiderman making them one of his top donors. According to the Jewish Week, the most recent contribution from the Soros family was $10,000 that was delivered just a few days ago on the Jewish holiday of Shmini Atzeres.

This is a startling revelation in the race for Attorney General – widely considered to be the most competitive state-wide race in New York. Recent polls have Democratic State Senator Eric Schneiderman leading Republican District Attorney Dan Donovan by just a few points. Schneiderman is the darling of the liberal establishment for his long track-record in Albany, while Donovan is supported by law and order types for his long track-record of prosecuting crime.

This revelation of Schneiderman’s deep support from the left-wing Soros comes on the heels of Schneiderman’s support of Al Sharpton. Schneiderman famously promised Al Sharpton that he would have office space in the Attorney General’s office in Albany.

In related news, last week the New York Daily News reported that the IRS filed a $538,652 lien against Al Sharpton with the New York City Register’s office for taxes assessed in 2009. Sharpton denies that he owes the taxes. Schneiderman has yet to comment on Sharpton’s latest brush with the law.

  1. This is news????

George Soros’s original last name was “Schwartz” (they changed it in Europe in the 1930s). Why shouldn’t a liberal frei Jew support another liberal frei Jew. Now if a liberal frei Jew supported a conservative Italian American for governor – that would be news.

  2. I knew this guy is a no goodnick he’s a radical left winger like Obama (and Charlie Hall) and the Hamodia basically endorsed this
    Nut case shame on them.

  3. I am glad to see that a publication like the Jewish Week is publicizing this busha. Good for them and shame on those Jews who voted for Schneiderman in the primary and are planning to vote for him in the general election. Even Ed Koch has come out in favor of the Republican candidate!

  4. #3,

I wasn’t going to comment, but since my name was mentioned:

Schneiderman is my state Senator and he is not a radical left winger at all. He has been good to the Jewish community here and I saw him campaigning in an Orthodox synagogue. His embrace of Sharpton, however, cost him my vote in the primary.

I will consider voting for Donovan. He has resisted the demagoguery of Lazio and Paladino regarding the Park51 Center — a courageous position given that so many Republicans think that it should be ok to take your property rights from you just because you belong to an unpopular minority.

  5. Maybe I won’t vote for Donovan after all. He just fessed up to receiving illegal campaign contributions. An AG should know better.
