Rishon L’Tzion Explains How Ben-Gurion Tried To Remove Persons From Yiddishkheit

Rishon L’Tzion Rabbi Yitzchak Yosef Shlita during a shiur in Bnei Brak delivered a blow to Israel’s first prime minister, David Ben-Gurion. According to the Kikar Shabbos News report, Rav Yosef said, “He used [proverbial] incinerators to get people away from Yiddishkheit”.

“Two weeks ago, I was invited to Kiryat Tivon, a children’s town, where Ben-Gurion got people away from religion. It was there that the peyos of the naïve children of Morocco were cut off” Rav Yosef added.

“This is a place that there was an incinerator operated to remove them from their religion,” Rav Yosef emphasized.

It should be noted that Rabbi Yosef was invited to Kiryat Tivon for a hachnasas Sefer Torah and became the first Chief Rabbi to visit the community in his official capacity.

  1. Very strange story and hopefully does not accurately report the language used by the Rav. It would be very inappropriate characterization, if true, which I very much doubt. The terminology of the shoah should NEVER be used for this kind of political disparagement, no matter now much one may disagree with the person or historical actions being addressed. DBG was responsible for saving the lives of literally tens of thousands of yidden and such disparagement is bizarre and is shameful.

  2. Not sure why you think that “the terminology of the shoah should never be used for this kind of political disparagement.” It’s not political, it’s the Rav’s da’as Torah, and as such constitutes Torah hashkafa. BTW, Chazal have already said: גדול המחטיאו יותר מן ההורגו, so tearing a Jew away from his heritage is considered by Chazal to be worse than killing him.
As for all the Jews DBG “saved,” well, not too many of them were in Hungary, were they? Maybe refresh your memory about the sordid Kastner business for a reminder.

  3. Gadolhadumbo,

Once again you place your jaws in motion before your brain is in gear and make another one of your dumb, uninformed comments.

    Rishon L’Tzion is 100% correct.

Read “PERFIDY” by Ben Hecht. It’s not easy to find but when you do find it, read it and understand it you will have a completely different opinion of Zionism and it’s anti-Torah founders.

Or look up the “Altalena Affair” on Google. You will learn about Ben-Gurion, Yitzchak Rabin and other murderers of Jews.

  4. I am surprised by your remarks Gadolhadorah. The spiritual halocost was and is far more damaging to the Jewish people, which affects our eternal life. The wicked acts of people like ben gurion should not be overlooked simple because they helped in establishing the sate. We must say the truth as it is, and I hope the state will finally make it clear to all Israelis and the world what was really done to the children and their families of Yemin.

There is nothing shameful about saying the truth, you are foolish and naive.

  5. This is not about “politics”, it is about religion, and this kind of language has always been used when referring to religion – even the age-old Midrash (thousands of years before WW II) taught to children where Abraham was thrown in to a “fiery furnace” by Nimrod.

  6. It is also worthwhile reading the chapter in Family Secrets by Sarah Birnhack, which although fictional, gives a very clear account of the Yaldei Teheran, whereby the Yiddishkeit was forcibly removed from the child refugees of Europe. This is one of the most shameful episodes in the zionist story and completely backs up the Ravs words.

  7. I found a copy of “perfidy” for free online. Very important read even though I felt like throwing up after reading it. But the facts are all there. Unfortunately…
