High Court Refuses To Hear From Asra Kadisha On Kosel Arrangement

The High Court of Justice has refused a request from Asra Kadisha to be recognized as a party in the case pertaining to the arrangement at the Kosel that is scheduled for Thursday, 9 Elul.

According to a Yisrael Hayom report, Asra Kadisha’s Dovid Shmidel requested to be heard as a party in the case in which the Reform and Conservative Movements are trying to create new realities at the Kosel and use this to achieve de-facto recognition. Court President, Justice Miriam Noar declined Asra Kadisha’s request.

“The High Court of Justice missed a rare opportunity to give a chance here and to hear the position of the widespread chareidi circles, which are not represented on the political map in Israel,” Asra Kadisha told Yisrael Hayom.

“Any violation of the ethos of the holy site will result in a severe violation of the human rights of thousands of chareidi Jews, and will in fact cause the exclusion of chareidim from the Kosel,” the organization said.
